Endurance: Persistence and Resilience Key Ingredients for Success
When I think of endurance, I think that is my ability to withstand some adversity or obstacle. Defined- endurance is the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way. The second definition is denoting or relating to a race or other sporting event that takes place over a long distance or otherwise demands great physical stamina.
Recently, I have encountered some hardships in life that has caused me to evaluate my ability to endure but with Faith and Patience I have the ability to endure. But some advice that I got from watching Nightline ABC show, a section on a motorcycle club, “just get started”. The Nightline show previewed the Caramel Curves women’s motorcycle club, who represents girl power on motorcycles. Such a beautiful concept with beautiful, black, and powerful women representing. While I love the advice I just learned, I would definitely add persistence. When we encounter a hardship, it is critical for us to just be persistent in faith, hope and patience. It doesn’t matter if it is spirit, soul or body issue, we must persist to endure.
Additionally, resilience is another word that you must remember to endure. Resilience is the ability to bounce back in any situation. We must learn how to be like palm trees. Palm trees are nature’s example of resilience. When the wind blows, the palm trees go with the direction of the wind. Years ago wisdom was to let it roll off your back like water off a ducks back. I agree that it was great wisdom. Whatever you do, I encourage you to ENDURE by being persistence and resilience.
